How to take advantage of Optical Character Recognition in Google Keep - TechRepublic:

Apparently you can use your Android smartphone and the "free" Google Keep App to capture and image, say of a newspaper article and quickly convert it to a "text" file. This could be very useful for genealogy. Use the phone to capture the image of a newspaper clipping obituary and convert it to a text file.

I have not mastered this technique as of the time I posted this link.
